Total Body Arc Trainers support the same low-impact lower body motion as Lower Body trainers, plus they have moving arm bars. Compared with similar elliptical machines they can be almost twice as effective at sculpting your upper body. The four Total Body Arc Trainers are the 525AT, 625AT, 770AT and the Total Access Trainer.

Arc Trainer vs Elliptical - Which One Should You Use? Both arc trainer and elliptical are fairly similar. However, the arc trainer will be more effective for longer workouts, while the elliptical is the clear winner for shorter, more intense sessions. The main difference is the movement you make with an arc trainer is slightly different as it moves along the arc (hence the name).

One of the main things people care about is which machine will help them burn more calories. Calorie burning has an impact on both how much weight you can lose and how much energy you need to waste while working out. In most cases, when people are looking for a cardio machine, they do it because they want to exercise at home and lose weight or maintain their current form.

The Cybex 750 AT is the base model of the arc trainer, but it has all the features you need and more. It has eight preset programs and nine custom programs that you can look at, on its full split-level display. Additionally, this machine utilizes reverse arc motion technology, which engages the glutes and quads, allowing for more calorie burning.

More results in less time. Research shows that the Cybex Arc Trainer burns more calories than any other cross trainer or elliptical cross trainer tested. The science behind the Arc Trainers big calorie burn is the Arc motion. It engages the right muscles quads and glutes that demand lots of energy from the body when they are called upon to work. That means big calorie burn. And because the Arc is demanding of the muscles not the joints, it can be used longer without putting a strain on the knees, hip or back.

No more elliptical knees. Unlike other cross trainers on the market the patented Arc pattern of motion allows the hip and knee to move synchronously while the foot stays under the knee reducing joint pains and providing a more comfortable workout.

With Same Side Forward (SSF), the arm and leg on the same side move together, so that the relationship with the arm handle and footplate remains the same regardless of incline. This allows the user to always maintain optimal posture during exercise which virtually eliminates stress on the back. Other cross trainers, with arms and legs moving in opposite directions, lack the ability to maintain correct body positioning throughout the incline range.

The Arc Trainer is equipped with long input arms with a more linear path versus the shorter handles found on other cross trainers. This near linear path minimizes painful wrist articulation allowing you to get a better upper body workout and maintain good posture. Additionally the arms feature forward outboard handles allowing you to push harder with your upper body while opposing lower body muscles are engaged resulting in more muscles working at once and therefore more calories being burned in less time.

I LOVE the arc trainer. I was using an elliptical trainer at the gym I used to go to, because I could never get on a fully functional Cybex there. I switched gyms to the less expensive Planet Fitness, and am glad to say I am back at it on a Cybex. It feels much, much better. I was having trouble getting my heart rate up on the elliptical, and used to dial up the resistance to the point where I was pulling and pushing hard and leaving with sore feet. The movement of the elliptical foot pads seemed to cause my shoes, no matter the type, to bend and pinch across the ball of the foot, and then with the added pressure from pushing against the resistance, my feet always took too much stress. By comparison, I get off the Cybex in a better mood, feeling lighter and invigorated. No part of my body feels stressed. I am a little surprised that the Cybex burns more calories, because it feels so much better it seems it must be easier!

Like an elliptical trainer, the Arc Trainer is considered to be an example of a weight-bearing form of exercise that is linked to prevention of osteoporosis.[4] It is comparable to a treadmill in its ability to induce heart muscle activity, but reduces the impact shock typically associated with treadmill running.[citation needed]

6.) Check the usage log (Call Cybex and they will tell you how to do it.) All Commercial cardio machines and most home machines have a usage log that will show hours and mileage. Having this information is critical especially if you are looking at two different machines. 041b061a72
