We're honored to host the exclusive stream of Death's reissue of 'Leprosy' -- one of the most important and insanely awesome metal albums of all time. Originally released in 1988, 'Leprosy' pioneered both extreme intensity and refined songwriting within the metal realm while cementing Chuck Schuldiner's status as an icon. Providing the roots for death metal itself, 'Leprosy' is still celebrated for its greatness to this day.

The reissue of 'Leprosy' was "painstakingly remastered" by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Nile). As for the rehearsal audio featured on disc two, 50 minutes of previously unheard demos will finally be shared, as will a 24-page booklet featuring unseen pictures of the band. The vinyl version features the remastered core album on wax together with a download card for all of the music included on the double album.

A "super limited" triple album (limited to 2000 copies) will also be released exclusively through the Relapse web store. The third CD will bring fans an additional 40 minutes of unreleased live material. An LP reissue picture disc is also set for release, limited to just 1000 copies.

And for the most hardcore Death fans, the 'Leprosy' reissue will also be offered as a super limited deluxe vinyl box set. Limited to 500 copies, the 'Leprosy' album will be pressed onto colored vinyl, while the rehearsal sessions LP will be housed in an exclusive jacket with original flyer art on exclusive colored vinyl. Also included will be an exact replication of the original Combat newspaper print LP insert and a 'Leprosy' turntable slip mat. A download card for all three LPs will also be added to the box set. As of this posting, this edition of the 'Leprosy' reissue is sold out.

Leprosy is the second studio album by American death metal band Death, released on August 12, 1988, by Combat Records.[3] The album is notable in its different tone and quality from the band's 1987 debut, it is the first example of Scott Burns' work heard on many of the death metal and grindcore albums of that era. The cover is featured in Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. It is the first album to feature drummer Bill Andrews and the only one to feature guitarist Rick Rozz.

In a poll by the German Rock Hard magazine, Leprosy was voted the number one of the 25 most important death metal albums of all time. On April 29, 2014, a three-disc remastered edition containing bonus tracks was released via Relapse Records.[4]

The title track was covered by the blackened death metal band Akercocke on their 2007 album Antichrist. Dutch melodic death metal band Callenish Circle covered "Pull the Plug" as a bonus on their Flesh Power Dominion album, released in 2002; shortly thereafter, Norwegian band Zyklon also recorded "Pull the Plug" to be used as a bonus track. Finnish thrash metal band Mokoma covered the track "Open Casket", with lyrics in Finnish and titled "Avoin Hauta", on their EP Viides Vuodenaika. "Pull the Plug" was also covered by American band Revocation. 041b061a72
